Due to the inconsistent weather, our skin goes crazy. Along with exfoliating and moisturizing our face, we need to also take care of our lips. Chapped lips are never attractive. If you are like me and LOVE matte lips, you are probably the target market for this! There are many lip scrubs on the market such as LUSH cosmetics and Fresh skincare. Your face scrub will most likely not suffice because you need something harsher for the lips to rub off the dead dry skin. You can also make home-made lip scrubs by mixing the following: 1tsp. olive oil, 1tbsp. honey, 1tbsp. brown sugar and fresh lemon juice. Another way you can scrub is with a tooth brush. After you brush your teeth, scrub your lips with the toothbrush and some toothpaste and it will exfoliate your lips as well. I suggest you scrub at night and put a nice lip balm on to treat it over night. During the day, we eat, drink and lick our lips often so its not as effective. I highly suggest a more natural lip balm or chapstick such as Burt's bees (love!). As amazing as matte and longwear lipsticks are, they dry out even the softest lips if used consistently. I highly suggest exfoliating the night before you have an event to go to. Hope this was helpful!
